Between August 23 and September 1, Rector Alexandre Cidral represented Univille on a Technical-Scientific Mission to Educational Institutions and Science, Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Centers in Finland, organized by the ACAFE System. The mission provided valuable opportunities for networking and the exchange of knowledge and experiences with one of the world’s most advanced countries.
Finland is globally recognized for its educational excellence and innovation across a range of fields. The main objective of the mission was to gain first-hand knowledge of successful practices in education, research, and development, while initiating dialogue on cooperation between Santa Catarina’s community universities and Finnish institutions.
During the mission, the delegation visited renowned institutions, including the Finnish Ministry of Education, the Finnish National Agency for Education, the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre, the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Helsinki, and Helsinki Normal Lyceum. The group also visited the University of Turku, Turku University of Applied Sciences, Tampere University, the Business Tampere AI Research Hub, and the Platform6 business incubator.
The ACAFE System rectors were welcomed by local authorities with a strong emphasis on diplomacy, and cooperation agreements were signed with Finnish institutions.
“When reflecting on the reality of the University of the Region of Joinville and our region, I believe we already have several initiatives aligned with what we observed in Finland. Nevertheless, this experience shows us that we have the capacity and expertise to overcome challenges and continue evolving, always striving to provide excellent education and contribute to the sustainable socioeconomic development of our community,” said Rector Alexandre Cidral.
