Scientific Mission in Spain Discusses Strategies to Address Drought The Environmental and Sanitary Engineering program and the Graduate Program in Health and Environment (PPGSMA) at Univille joined the Brazilian team of the international TREASURE project (Treasuring Groundwater and Reclaimed Water for Drought Adaptation).
Researchers and international institutions gathered at the University of Girona, Spain, to seek solutions focused on water security, drought adaptation, and sustainable water resources management.
The University of the Region of Joinville (Univille) was represented by its Vice-Rector, Professor Therezinha Novais de Oliveira.

During the scientific mission, technical meetings, strategic discussions, and field activities were conducted, focusing on the sustainable use of water and the impacts of climate change.
“We conducted field visits to see how water resources are being managed there to prevent droughts. We also presented our initiatives in Brazil, discussed comparisons, and explored how we can contribute to water resources management,” explained Therezinha.

The participation was supported by the Santa Catarina State Research and Innovation Support Foundation (FAPESC) through a project coordinated by Professor Virgínia Grace Barros from the Santa Catarina State University (UDESC)
