Lecture Highlights the Relationship Between Technological Cycles, AI, and Education at PDG 2026

Technological transformations, artificial intelligence (AI), and education were the main topics of the second evening of the 2026 Management Development Program (PDG 2026). The event took place last Thursday (5), featuring a lecture by Prof. Dr. Claudio Antonio Rama Vitale, a member of the EAGLES Program and a Latin American reference in the fields of education and society.

Drawing on the Theory of Technological Cycles, developed by Russian economist Nikolai Kondratiev, Rama presented an overview connecting major technological revolutions with the current context of production. Since the mid-20th century, these transformations have influenced the fields of ideas, innovation, and intellectual thought.

According to the professor, these events not only influenced the production base and shaped a new model of capitalism, but also established a theoretical framework for identifying technological and educational processes.

“Societies advance through creative destruction. New forms of knowledge emerge, but they also replace previous technologies. It is not only products that change; services are transformed as well, along with our understanding of how processes are organized,” he stated.

In addition to these topics, the professor addressed issues relevant to the academic community, including the use of AI in scientific research and the need to discuss technology within higher education.

The lecture is part of the PDG 2026 program, organized by the Human Resources Management Department of FURJ and the Institutional Planning, Assessment and Regulatory Coordination Office of Univille.

This year, the program is being held in partnership with the Rectoral Board Institute, through the Advanced Studies Program in Higher Education Management & Leadership (EAGLES).
