São Bento do Sul Campus Academic Community Takes Part in International Lecture

Polish Consul General Presents Poland’s History, Opportunities, and Current Affairs

On Monday evening (September 16), the Univille academic community at the São Bento do Sul campus took part in an international lecture with Polish Consul General Marta Olkowska. Faculty members, administrative staff, and undergraduate students learned about Poland’s history, current affairs, and opportunities in areas such as education, technology, industry, and tourism.

During the event, Marta introduced Poland through data, cultural and economic characteristics, as well as aspects of the country’s history and its relations with neighboring nations.

“It is my first visit to São Bento do Sul, so I think it is wonderful to meet the university’s young students on my very first visit and tell them a little about Poland. Many of them have a bit of Polish ancestry in their veins. So being able to bring Poland closer—not only through its history, but also through its everyday life and the country’s contemporary history—is a wonderful opportunity for us to be closer to one another,” she emphasized.

Univille International Affairs Advisor Juliana Bustamante reaffirmed the importance of initiatives like this in helping students discover the international opportunities available to them, while also promoting cultural exchange through events such as the lecture.

“This is a great opportunity to welcome a renowned diplomat such as Dr. Marta Olkowska to our institution. Learning directly from someone who comes from Poland allows us to promote cultural and historical exchange and deepen our understanding of these roots. We do not yet have relations with Poland, so this is a great opportunity to begin building them,” she highlighted.
